Our first full day in San Francisco apart from meeting friends was spent at Fisherman's Wharf. The Wharf is quaint tourist magnet. Most roads from the centre of town seem to lead to Fisherman's Wharf. One of kid's bright idea was to walk there this meant walking about 7 block of San Francisco's best inclines. By the time we reached Fisherman's Wharf we were all seriously hungry.
Streets of San Francisco
Fisherman's Wharf
We opted for soup and sandwiches at Boudin's which seems to have made its self a name from sourdough bread. Irrespective the food was excellent and sizeable in portions, it made for an excellent lunch. We then ambled through the shops at Fisherman's Wharf eventually ending up at Pier 30 where the Seal's laze about
Cable Cars (Trams)
The central streets of San Francisco have "cable cars" that run along the main streets. At first they look like normal trams but the cable seems to be hidden under the rails and operated by gripper. The tram queues trend to be quite lengthy and the process of turning the trams around equally interesting. Its a tourist trap but probably worth the tick.
